SALE OF PETROL
Licence Not Allowed
An application by Nebrisco (Consolidated), Ltd., for a licence to retail petrol from two pumps at garage premises at Waipara on the main Pic-ton-Bluff highway was refused by the Motor Spirits Licensing Authority in Christchurch yesterday. Mr C. B. Atkinson represented the applicant, and Mr D. J, Clark appeared for the objector, Mrs K. A. Pringle. An application by Midway Service Station, Ltd. (Mr G. S. Brockett) to change the selling point of 12 pumps from the present premises at the corner of Winters and North roads, Papanui. to the proposed new service station premises at 315 Main North road was adjourned until May 16. The applicant also sought a licence to sell motor spirits from six pumps at the existing service station premises at the Winters and North roads junction, Papanui. The authority comprised Mr J. W. Bain (chairman) and Messrs F. S. Taylor and G. Laurence.
Election Candidate.—Mr J. H. Morrow, aged 68, a pastpresident of the Deerstalkers’ Association, and a bridgebuilding contractor in the Pahiatua area, will contest the Pahiatua seat for Social Credit at the General Election.—(P.A.)
