34 HORSES ABOARD
Big Shipment At Mount

A near record shipment of 34 race horses, including 29 yearlings from the 1966 Trentham National Yearling Sales and English horses on transshipment collectively valued at more than £30.000 was loaded in the Melbournebound Union Steamship Company’s Koromiko, at Mount Maunganui yesterday. The yearlings are valued at £17,551 and 12 are consigned to the Adelaide trainer, C. S. Hayes.
Next week, Trans-Tasman Bloodstock Shippers is exporting 49 New Zealand racehorses, worth £50,000 (including some tb Japan) from Auckland in the Rockhampton Star.
A further consignment of seven horses will go to Sydney in the Komata from Mount Maunganui on Monday. Wright Stephenson and Company Ltd. also shipped three horses in the Koromiko. They included the English stallion Man the Rail, on trans-ship-ment, and two New Zealandbred horses. The other two horses in the shipment are English-bred and consigned by the New Zealand Express Company.
