PALISADE-BOODLE PICK FOR DOUBLE

Trentham Track Should Suit Rohe Potae

Peterman, Rohe Potae, Misere, and Janeville, winners on a rainaffected track on Wellington Cup day, may have conditions to their liking again at Trentham today.

Peterman was assured of favouritism for the North Island Challenge Stakes under any conditions, but the easing in the track in the last day or so was probably needed to bring Rohe Potae and Misere into high places of favour for the Railway Handicap.

Janeville is the one most likely to end the unbeaten record of the brilliant Hawera colt, Mr Mink. These two-year-olds will meet in the Plunket Nursery Handicap, run over six furlongs. The condition of the track today will have an important bearing on favouritism for the H. R. Chalmers Handicap, and on the result itself. Palisade likes easy but not heavy tracks. He should be equal to all demands set by 9-6 and the various talents of his rivals if he gets a good galloping surface. The Chalmers Handicap is the first leg of the T.A.B double. Boodle and My Cal', two good milers down in the weights, may be the pick of the field for the second leg, the £3OOO Thompson Handicap. Fields with riders and form comments follow. 11.30 a.m.—
