GREAT WAR RELIC
(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Mar. 4. A heavy machine-gun, believed to be a World War 1 German Maxim, has been handed to the Invercargill police. It is the first such weapon to appear during the present arms amnesty. The gun has been in the possession of Mr A. E. Ireland for the last six or seven years. His son brought it home when he was about 12 years old, cleaned the rust from its water-jacket and working parts, and used it in his games with friends.
