ATTACKING SHOT.—The New Zealand batsman, M. J. F. Shrimpton, attacking the bowling of D. A. Allan and reaching the boundary with the shot. Anticipating the ball that did not come is the England wicket-keeper, J. T. Murray. The slips fieldsmen are M. C. Cowdrey and P. H. Parfitt. Shrimpton went on to score 38, the top score of the New Zealand first innings so far.
