THE CHARITABLE TRUSTS ACT, 1957 IN THE MATTER of the Charitable Trusts Act,, 1957 and IN THE MATTER of the Will of Miriam Margolish, of Christchurch, Widow, deceased. NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to Section 36 of the Charitable Trusts Act, 1957, that the Trustees of the Will of the abovenamed Miriam Margolish have applied to the Supreme Court at Christchurch for approval of a Scheme for disposition of certain trust fund which on the 31st day of January, 1965, amounted to approximately £6825 19s sd. The said Scheme provides that after payment of administration expenses and the costs of the proceedings the balance of the residuary estate of the said Miriam Margolish together with any accrued interest shall be paid to the Council of the University of Otago to be held by the* said Council upon trust for the purposes and on the conditions set out hereunder:— (I) The Fund, to be called the Thomas Hillier Green and William James Green Fund, shall be administered by the Council of the University of Otago. (II) The income from the Fund, including any balance of accumulated income, shall be devoted to such medical research work in the University of Otago as is determined by the Council of the said University. < (III) The said Council, without j limiting its discretion in the ex- < penditure of the income of the , Fund, may apply such income ! in any of the following ways: J (a) The purchase of books, ap- 7 paratus, or equipment re- 1 quired for medical re- J search work; (b) Payment to assist publica- ! tion of medical research , papers; , (c) Payments to research t workers working in the Otago Medical School; t (d) Payments to technicians or typists working under the direction of research workers in the Medical School. (e) The setting up of rooms for research in the Otago Medical School; p (f) To aid medical research 2 in any other way that may t seem fit. t IV. Any apparatus or equipment 1 or books that may be purchased with income from the Fund shall be and shall remain the property of the University of Otago. V. Any research worker who receives assistance from the Fund and who publishes the result of his research shall on such publication acknowledge the assistance he has received from the Fund. A copy of the said Scheme has been deposited in and may be Inspected at the Registry Office of the Supreme Court at Christchurch. It is .proposed that the application for approval be heard at Christchurch on Friday, April 22, 1966, at 10 a.m. Any person desiring to oppose the said Scheme is required to give written notice of his intention to do so to the Registrar of the said Court and to the Trustees of the Will of the said Miriam Margolish and to the Attorney-General not less than seven clear days before the date proposed for hearing of the ap-pCccatd-on.
