‘Miserable’ Picture
fN.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 3. The secretary of the Committee for the Freedom from Hunger Campaign in Korea, Mr Suh Succwhan, does not approve of the “miserable” pictures of Koreans which appear in New Zealand newspapers.
"Korea was very miserable during the war but we have developed much since then,” he said in Wellington tonight. The Koreans are wanting to help themselves. They are not sitting waiting for relief.” Mr Suh is accompanied by Mr Kim Hurungseo who is in charge of the huge Daeduck tidal reclamation project of the western coast.
The purpose of their visit is to thank New Zealand for its assistance with the project which is now 70 per cent completed. New Zealand gave £52.000.
