THE APPOINTMENT: The work includes the interpretation and evaluation of economic and financial data, the study of New Zealand and international economic conditions, editorial work connected with national economic surveys and forecasts, and the provision of economic intelligence generally. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should hold a University degree in economics with at least second class honours. Some commercial, financial or Government experience is desirable but not essential. Experience in the application of statistical techniques and the interpretation of statistics is vital. The prime requirements are clear, analytical thinking, a practical approach to research techniques and forecasting, good judgment and effective written and oral expression.
