T. Mulligan won all the open swimming events and was second in the dive, at the St. Thomas of Canterbury College swimming sports. He set new records* in three events. His brother, P. Mulligan, set new records in all three under--13 events. Champions were:—Open, T. Mulligan: runners-up B. Brown and J. Noonan. Intermediate. K. Evans; runners-up M. Casey and M. Dick. Under-14. D. Reid; runner-up, K. Rooney. Under--13, P. Mulligan; runners-up, P. Yardley and P. Schirmanski. Under-12, P. Casey; runner-up, P. Schuyt. Black won the inter-house points competition with 204 points from Gold (154), Green (95) and Red (64). Results were: Open 66 metres freestyle: T. Milligan 1, A. Reid 2, J. Noonan 3.
