FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A south to south-west airstream covers New Zealand. Forecast: Canterbury.—South - westerlies freshening; rather cold, showery weather developing. Outlook: further showers. Coastal Marlborough.—South westerlies moderating for a time but freshening later; partly cloudy and cool; showers by afternoon or evening. Outlook: showers. Inland Marlborough and Nelson.—Moderate variable winds; mainly fine, apart from a few scattered showers, chiefly on the ranges; moderate afternoon temperatures. Outlook: fair. Buller and Westland.—South-westerlies freshening in some exposed places this morning; scattered showers and rather cool day temperatures. Outlook: showers.
