LOCAL CHAMPION.—J. H. Cleary, of the Papanui club, who yesterday became the first Canterbury cyclist for five years to win a senior national track title. He won the 1000 metres time trial by a tenth of a second from G. F. Wright (Wellington), repeating the success of G. Hill, who won the same title at Wanganui in 1961.
