TRUCK HITS SCAFFOLD

Men Injured In Fall Two workers escaped without serious injury when scaffolding on a building under construction at St. Andrew’s College fell down after being hit by a truck yesterday afternoon. Mr A. J. Harper, of 371 Avonhead road. suffered slight rib and ankle injuries. Mr D. A. Sutton, of 374 Clyde road, suffered leg injuries and shock. Both were treated at the Christchurch Hospital and discharged. The scaffolding leaned over at an angle of 45 degrees and was mostly supported by the tray of the truck. But for the tray, the scaffolding would have fallen on the men, who fell 14ft to the ground. The building, a new assembly hall-gymnasium, will be handed to the college by the old boys and parents at the jubilee celebrations on Wednesday. t
