STOCK SALE AT TEMUKA

Sound Values In All Sections Quality, for the most part, was good in the 95 head of fat cattle offered on Monday at the Temuka saleyards. The demand was widespread and values, taken over all, were sound. The yarding of fat sheep was a large one, including numerous pens of fat ewes, and little change was noticeable in values. The entry of store sheep was more than average In site and a keen inquiry held values to a high level. Sound values were also recorded in the pig section. Values were: Store Sheep.—Romney wether lambs, wool. 40s to 56s 6d: shorn, 41s to 555. Border Leicester cross ewe lambs to 69s 6d; Romney ewe lambs, 66s to 80s 6d. Two-tooth ewes, 60s to 965: four-tooth ewes to 90s 6d; full mouth ewes, 50s to 69s 6d; rape ewes, Ils to 295. Fat Sheep.—Prime wethers, 79s Id to 89s Id. Prime Ewes, 39s Id to 48s Id; light, 28s Id to 32s Id. Pigs.—Weaners, 60s to £5; porkers, £6 10s to £8 15s; baconers to £ll 12s 6d. Fat Cattle. —Prime steers, £4B 12s 60 to £59 12s 6d; light to medium, £35 12s 6d to £42 2s 6d. Prime betters. £37 2s 6d to £43 2s 6d; fight, £26 2a 6d to £32 2s 6d. Prime cows, £3B 2s 6d to £42 2a 6d; light, £lB to £2B 2s 6d.
