Misere Best At Awapuni
"The Press’’ Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH. The Railway Handicap runner, Misere, excelled in wet footing at Awapuni yesterday when R. W. Taylor rode him in an excellent final trial for the Trentham sprint. Taylor will also ride him in the race. Hooplah and Bandon, which will race at Napier Park and Trentham respectively, were in good form. Misere rah half a mile In 50sec, the last three furlongs in 37 3-ssec. He is near his best and should be hard to beat. All eyes were on Bandon, which again excelled when he strode away from Tilly Light over a mile in imln 46 2-ssec, the last three furlongs in 38 4-ssec. Bandon will be unlucky if he encounters a soft track at Trentham. for he has never been fitter. Hooplah excelled over three furlongs in 38 2-ssec. He failed over a middle distance at Bulls, but might do better in the shorter McWilliams Wines Handicap at Napier Park.
