PURCHASE BY U.E. BOX

Major Holding In Wool Firm (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 3. United Empire Box Company, Auckland-based packaging and plastic group, has acquired a majority holding in Napier Woollen’ Mills, and will make an offer for the remaining shares, directors of U.E. Box announced today. U. E. Box is putting a value of about £112,500 on the Napier company. The majority interest was acquired on a basis of five 5s U. E. Box stock units with a market value of 12s each for every two 20s Napier Woollen shares. The same terms will be offered to holders of the remaining shares. It is understood that directors of Napier Woollen will recommend acceptance of this offer. This is expected to be mailed to shareholders early next week. Business Personal Mr L. E. Grenside retired as secretary of the National Cash Register Company (N.Z.), Ltd., at the end of February after having been with the company for 50 years. He has been a director of the firm for 30 years.

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 3. A final dividend of 101 d in the £ will be paid to creditors of Wallace Gunson, Neale and Company, former Auckland sharebroking firm. The partners, Messrs William Wallace Gunson and Edward Xavier Neale, were adjudged bankrupt in March, 1958. The official assignee (Mr E. C. Carpenter) said today that the total payment to creditors was ll s 6jd in the £. There were proved creditors for about £166,000. This means that the deficiency was just over £70,000,
