It was launched in 1961, with the late Mr W T. Anderton as the first ediThe first edition under the new editorial control will be published on March 16. in May the paper will be increased from eight to ipages.
Pound Falls.—The pound sterling slid below its United States 2.80 dollar parity rate today for the first time in five months after the announcement yesterday that a British •General Election would be held on March 31. Dealers reported that the Bank of England had been forced to step in to stop the fall.—London, March 1.
