Man Killed In Car Crash

WHANGAREI, Feb. 11
A man was killed when his car hit a stone wall on the road between Whangarei and Maungatapere, half a mile from the Kokopu turn-off, at 11.30 p.m. yesterday. He was: John William Browne, aged 40, married, a quarryman, of Poroti road, Maungatapere.
Mr Browne, the only occupant of the car, was dead when help arrived. The car was extensively damaged.
