Bold Effort By Laramie
"Tht Press” Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH. Laramie has freshened up well since he raced in the Wellington Cup and his bold effort over a mile on the plough at Awapuni yesterday suggests a good chance for him in Saturday’s mile and a half Wanganui Queen Anne Cup. Laramie will be ridden in that race by H. N. RauhiM. On the plough, Laramie had Hine and Dance struggling at the end of a fast run mile In Imin Msec, the last three furlongs in 39 1-Ssec. This is good time for this particular track and Laramie put plenty of dash into his task. Galacie, which is fresh to resume racing in the high-weight this week, strode over seven furlongs in Imin 34 3-ssec, the last three in 38 4-ssec. This was a useful effort.
