AUCKLAND IS. EXPEDITION

Press Association 1 WELLINGTON, Feb. 8 New Zealand geologists, botanists, entomologists and wildlife experts returned at the week-end front a threeweek expedition in the Auck land Islands. One party of seven men based on Adams Island, and led by Dr. E. J. Godley, the director of the botany division of the D.5.1.R.. Christchurch. made scientific studies and collected plant, rock and insect specimens. The other, headed by Dr R. A. Falla, the Director of the Dominion Museum. Wellington, restored a hut at Port Ross on the main island of the group for use as a field station. The parties were in daily contact by radio and explored about five islands by boat. The United States Naval Antarctic Support Force picket ship, Calcaterra. provided transport for the expedition and its equipment between New Zealand and the Auckland Islands.
