AXEMEN CHOSEN
(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH. After a series of trials at Hokitika during the weekend, the following team of axemen was selected to represent New Zealand at the axemen’s carnival at the Royal Show in Sydney at Easter:— Standing events: D. Lamberton (Tokoroa), L. Bolstad (Raurimu), L. Gilsenan (Nelson Creek). Underhand events: R. Dickson (Ikamatua), R. Davidson (Tokoroa), W. Curtain (Hokitika). Reserves: Standing, P. Wynyard (Gisborne): underhand. A. Rose (Nelson). Curtain has been appointed captain, and Bolstad vice-cap-tain of the team of which Mr J. Hare, of Stratford, will be the manager.
