Six Injured On Roads
Mr J. Conroy, of 1 Ferner street, and his son Mark, aged 12. were injured when the power-cycle they were riding skidded in shingle in Patten street last evening. Mr Conroy suffered moderately serious head injuries and was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital. Mark Conroy suffered hand injuries and was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. A cyclist, Nini Nordyk, of 59 Trafalgar street, suffered hand injuries in a collision with a car in Trafalgar street about 7.20 p.m. She was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Two boys, Trevor Taylor and Brian Egan, both of 89 Rowses road, suffered leg injuries in a collision between a car and bicycle at the corner of Pages road and Shortland street about 4.45 p.m. They were treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Mrs V. Melhopt, of 34 Suffolk street, suffered minor injuries in a collision between a bicycle and car in Tuam street about 9.30 a.m.
