More Settlers For S. Africa
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter) PRETORIA. South Africa is heading for another near-record yearly total of settlers. Immigration figures released in Pretoria reflect a sharp drop in the flow of immigrants from other parts of Africa, but a big increase in the number of people coming from Europe.
There were 29,697 new settlers during the first 10 months of 1965. This is slightly below the total for the same period last year, but is more than in 1963. The main source of immigrants has again been Britain, which supplied 9601. A year ago Britain led the field with 10,644.
