Minor Fires
A fire in a switchboard in the premises of T. H. Green and Company, Ltd., at the corner of Matipo and Princess streets, caused only slight damage last evening. Sockburn and Headquarters firemen answered the alarm at 8.48 p.m. An oven fire in the home of Elizabeth McPherson. 217 Lyttelton street was put out by Sydenham firemen called at 5.23 p.m.
A fire in a mattress in a shed on the property of John Dery, 6 Bellbrook crescent, was put out by St Albans and Headquarters firemen, who were called at 9.47 a.m.
