REPAIRS TO HOLMBRAE
(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Feb. 7. Temporary repairs have been made to a small hole in hull of the coaster, Holmbrae, at present berthed at the New Plymouth port. The New Plymouth manager for the Union Steam Ship Company, Mr R. Mander, said today the hole developed during the ship’s voyage from Timaru to New Plymouth on Thursday. Mr Mander said the hole was just below the water line in the engine-room. The ship was making water but the pumps were able to cope, he said. No cargo was damaged.
