Viewin Might Win At Blenheim Today
(From Our Own Reporter) BLENHEIM Viewin and Star Globe will be one of the popular combinations for the TA.B. double at Blenheim today. This double on the second day of the Marlborough Trotting Club’s annual meeting will be run on the S. S. Fleming Memorial and W. T. Lowe Memorial Handicaps.
Viewin will be one of four in the first leg tryirtg to keep a winning record intact. She is also a newcomer to the meeting. The test time Viewin raced she led from end-to-end over a sprint distance at Nelson a week ago. This time she will be attempting to give several well-performed rivals a start of 36 yards and a beating over a mile and a half.
Viewin’s task will not be easy but at least she has had a chance to freshen whereas many of the others could now be feeling the effects of strenuous campaigns. Bar None and Frosty Heather, both impressive winners on Saturday, will be among the strong fancies again. The other last-start winner in the field is Third Chief, but he faces a really hard assignment this time from the back mark of 60 yards. There will be a double for course patrons only on the Richmond Brook and Havelock Handicaps. Lofty and Gift Duty could be the successful combination. The weather in Blenheim has been brilliantly fine, so the track will again be firm and fast.
