Bodies To Be Flown To ILS.

The bodies of the six American servicemen who were killed in an air crash in Antarctica on Wednesday will be flown to the United States for burial. A Hercules aircraft on a special flight is expected to arrive at Christchurch from McMurdo Station with the bodies at 9 a.m. today. When the Hercules lands at Harewood the bodies will be transferred to a United States Navy Super Constellation of VX6 Squadron, to which the servicemen belonged. The Super Constellation will leave immediately for Auckland, where the bodies will be transferred to a commercial aircraft for the flight to the United States. There will be a Royal New Zealand Air Force guard of honour from Wigram when the aircraft arrives at Harewood. Men of VX6 Squadron will also be drawn up in formation on the tarmac.
