Fish Shop Theft
(N.Z. Press Association) ■ OAMARU, Feb. 4. Thieves who entered the ; premises of Aspro’s fish shop last night stole £lOO in cash : and notes. s Entry was gained by means of the back door of the premises and a safe was removed to a shed at the ; rear of the shop. The back of ■ the safe was hacked off by means of a tomahawk, ham- ■ mer and tyre lever removed ; from the shop. During last night intruders also gained entry to Pukeuri Motors, Ltd., five miles from Oamaru, and stole a gas cutting outfit, including gas bottles, hoses and nozzles. Hedge Fire.—About 20ft of hedge was destroyed by fire on the property of Mr E. Airey, 342 Hills road, early yesterday. St. Albans and [ Headquarters firemen attonded.
