PROMOTIONS IN POLICE

WELLINGTON, Feb; 4.
Six promotions to commissioned rank have been announced by the Commissioner of Police, Mr C. L. Spencer. Detective Senior-Sergeant ,F. H. Parker, of Wellington, has been promoted to detective inspector and will remain at C.1..8, Wellington. Senior-Sergeants J. W. McGuire, R. G. Newman and B. J. Conlon, all of Wellington, have been promoted to inspector and will remain at headquarters. Detective Senior-Sergeant J. F. Stevenson, of Rotorua, has been promoted to detective inspector and transferred to Auckland, and Detective Senior-Sergeant J. A. McCarthy, of Auckland, has gained similar promotion and will remain at Auckland.
