MANAGER APPOINTED

Social Service Council

Mr F. A. Gunn, of Christchurch, has been appointed secretary-manager of the Social Service Council of the Diocese of Christchurch. He will take up his appointment on the retirement of the present manager, Mr G. M. Morgan. A married man with three children, Mr Gunn retired from the Regular Army in 1963 with the rank of major. He is a lay reader in the New Brighton parish, where he is also a vestryman and a synodsman. Mr Gunn is a graduate of the New Zealand Services Staff College. Until his retirement from the Army, he held at various times the position of deputy assistant adjutant-general for the Central Military District. More recently he was recruiting information officer at the Southern Military District headquarters. Since retirement from the Army Mr Gunn has been associated with a publishing company. In his new post he will be the council’s chief administrative officer and will, in association with the senior social worker, be responsible for the work of the Anglican social services.
