APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED
Lands And Survey Department
Mr M. J. Fitzgerald has been appointed assistant Commissioner of Crown Lands, Christchurch. Mr Fitzgerald, who holds the degree of bachelor of arts, is at present administration officer in the head office of the department and has been in Wellington since joining the Public Service in 1934. He served in the Department of In-
ternal Affairs and the State Services Commission before joining the department in 1946. His service includes periods in the Wellington district office, as private secretary to the Minister of Lands and as senior inspector in head office.
Two other senior appointments in the Department of Lands and Survey have also been announced. Mr G. Mollett, assistant Superintendent of Land' Development, Rotorua, has been appointed Commissioner of Crown Lands, Napier and Mr P. H. C. Lucas, who is at present in charge of the research and publicity division in head office, succeeds Mr Fitzgerald as administration officer. Mr Lucas has been with the department since entering the Public Service in 1947. He worked in Christchurch and Wellington offices before being appointed staff training officer at head office in 1955.
