Hopes For Decision

(N.Z. Press Association)

INVERCARGILL, Feb. 4.

The sentence of Barry Gordon Grant, the 26-year-old Australian found guilty of manslaughter by a Supreme Court jury in Invercargill on Wednesday, has been postponed until a question of law reserved for the opinion of the Court of Appeal, has been decided. Mr P. M. Galt, who assisted Mr J. G. Leggat, of Christchurch, in the defence of Grant, said today that it was hoped a decision would be known in March.

Grant, who has been released on bail of £2OO with one surety of the same amount, is at present working at West Arm.
