Mr Muldoon, Parliamentary Under-secretary to the Minister of Finance, will leave Wellington on Monday morning for a fortnight’s visit to Australia to observe the Australian change-over to decimal currency. He will be accompanied by the chairman of the Decimal Currency Board (Mr S. L. Moses) and the board’s secretary (Mr J. N. Searle).— (PA.) Captain A. E. Lockhart, marine superintendent of the Shaw Savill Line in London, retired on January 31. He will be succeeded by Captain H. M. Rome. Mr P. A. Toynbee, of Wellington, has been appointed director of the Coal Advisory Service Association. Since 1959 Mr Toynbee has been in charge of coal research for the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research and last year became the industrial research officer. A member of the Institute of Fuel, Mr Toynbee was educated at Timaru and Canterbury University.—(PA.)
