BIG STORE SOLD
Marcus Clark Realisation
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, Feb. 3. Marcus Clark and Company, Ltd., today confirmed it had sold its Railway square store to the Department of Education for £700,000. Cash settlement will be made on March 31.
The company will continue to occupy the sixth floor of the building which will remain the registered address, according to directors, Marcus Clark closed down its Railway square store last July, after a series of losses in that area of the city, where the company had traded since 1928.
The huge Railway square building has a floor area of 247,600 square feet.
