WARTIME BOMB

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright)

LONDON, February 3.

An unexploded 5001 b wartime bomb found in the Thames in central London was lifted out of the water yesterday. It was placed carefully on a floating crane-vessel for disposal.

The bomb had been lying in 22ft of water, about 25ft from a bastion of Blackfriars railway bridge, which was closed at the height of the rush hour this morning so that the bomb could be recovered.
