More intensive discussions on departmental house rents were likely soon, the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said tonight. Talks on the rents issue continued in Wellington today between the Government and employee organisations.
Mr Holyoake told a press conference that the Minister of Labour (Mr Shand) would report progress to the Cabinet on Monday. Rent increases for departmental houses set for February are still being held in abeyance.
