Thousands of gulls, scavenging among the rubbish left at Auckland airport by the week-end pageant crowds, were frightened away by the radio-controlled model Hawk Kahn 11, this morning. The birds made off as soon as they spotted the hawk-shaped plane circling overhead. it was the plane’s first full-scale sortie.
