NEW PRIMARY SCHOOL
Approval For Rangiora (From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, Feb. 1. A new primary school is to be built at Rangiora North, the member for Rangiora, Mr H. E. L. Pickering, has been advised by the Minister of Education (Mr Kinsella). “The school will be built initially as a four-roomed school,” said the Minister, “but it is expected to grow rapidly, as it is in the area where most of the housing development is taking place. “Besides accommodating children from new housing areas, the new school will provide relief for the Rangiora Borough School which is carrying a roll much too large for the number of permanent rooms,” the Minister said. \ The school has been planned by the Canterbury Education Board, which has been authorised to accept a tender for the work.
Fight Arranged.—The 1968 professional boxing season begins in Dunedin on February 28 when the Tongan-born light heavy-weight, Filo Manuao, will meet the Mexican, Roberto Pena, over 12 rounds.
