LONDON, Feb. 2.
Police last night were guarding a 10001 b unexploded war-time bomb found in the Thames near Blackfriars bridge in Central London. A Royal Navy bomb disposal unit was expected to try and salvage the bomb at the next low tide in the early hours of tomorrow morning. The bomb was found in about 22 feet of water by a diver inspecting work on the piling of the bridge.
The bomb is believed to have lain for about 22 years beneath the bridge, which carries millions of Londoners to work daily in the city and neighbouring areas.
