QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should be Engineering, Metallurgy or Science Graduates or with equivalent qualifications required for acceptance as an Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers, Australia or other recognised professional in stitution. They should have experience and a particular interest in resolving problems associated with welding and allied processes in industry. DUTIES: The appointee will be primarily concerned with the direction and co ordination of research programmes authorised in the welding field by the Council of the Association, the presentation of research results to members and the assembly of technical information on this subject from world sources. This appointment will provide an excellent opportunity for full participation in the activity of an organisation dedicated to research in welding, which has the backing of Australia’s leading Industrialists. CONDITIONS: Initial salary for a fully qualified Research Officer will be £A4OOO (8000 dollars) per annum. Superannuation and long service leave apply.
