Tauranga Author

Mrs Joan Harland, of Tauranga, who was drowned in Northland yesterday, was the author of a recently published children’s book “Adventure Acre.” She came to Tauranga a year ago when her husband became production manager at the Bay of Plenty Co-op-erative Fertiliser Works. Mrs Harland had planned to write a sequel to the book. “Adventure Island.” Mrs Harland broadcast frequently to children and was b teacher at Epsom Girls' Grammar School. She also wrote several short stories and articles for women’s magazines.
