45 MT. ISA WORKERS

High Court Appeal (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) BRISBANE, Jan. 14. The case of the 45 former Mt. Isa mines employees who were not reinstated after last year’s strike is to be taken to the High Court of Australia. The Mt. Isa mine strike ended on April 7 last year All but 45 employees were reinstated. Their reinstatement was ordered by State Industrial Commissioner A. Taylor after a hearing at Mt. Isa. This decision however, was upset by the State Industrial Court President, Mr Justice Hanger and upheld by the Full Court of Queensland last December. Today solicitors for the 45 men announced they had lodged an appeal on certain restricted grounds to preserve the men’s rights.
