Trentham. Her stablemate, Macdonald, won the race last I year. Strong Run Royal Bid, another traveller this evening, galloped seven furlongs in lmin 34sec on the plough at Riccarton yesterday. Ridden by F. H. Skelton, he was running strongly with half a length on Tracey’s Comet (Mrs V. Clutterbuck) at the end. They ran the last half-mile in 52 2-ssec and the

final three furlongs in 38 4-5 Quick Flight (Skelton) and Flair Go (Mrs Clutterbuck) sprinted half a mile in 50 1-5 Sec. the final three furlongs in 38sec. Quick Flight, which has been brought from Ashburton for each of his recent gallops at Riccarton, will be taken north this evening. If he settles well at Trentham, he could take beating in the Pencarrow Hack Handicap on Saturday. New Owner’s Quick Return Royal Personage, which had changed ownership the day previously, gave his new owner, Mr H. F. Hawke, of Papakura, a quick return for his investment when he beat Delta Queen narrowly in the Juvenile Handicap at Avondale on Saturday. Mr Hawke, a motor-body builder, bought the colt from Mr A. Massey on Friday. Earlier last week Mr Hawke had the option on another two-year-old, Kathey's Son. but the colt failed to pass a veterinary examination. The purchase price of Royal Personage was not disclosed, but it is thought to be more than 2000gns. Roval Personage, a handsome bay by High Rank from Skewe, a half-sister of Frances, the winner of an Auckland Cup and nine other races, has had six starts for two wins and three minor p lacings.

Palisade To Miss Cup

"The Press” Special Service DUNEDIN. Palisade, top-weight in the Wellington Cup, will miss his trip to Trentham. Mr A. T. Soncerai from Invercargill, Cassarook and Court Belle from Gore, Solicitor from Clinton, and Dunsun and Modern Imp from Wingatul, will leave Dunedin for Wellington today.
