RACING Cup Runners In Good Trim For Trenthan

Eiffel Tower looked solid and bright when his Riverton trainer, W. J. Hillis, gave him striding work over two rounds on the plough at Riccarton yesterday. Hillis probably will gallop the 1965 Wellington Cup winner this morning, and will take him north this evening with his stablemates, Ettrick and Golden Disc.
Graduate Ettrick, a rangy Kurdistan gelding with strong form as a hack in the south, will start
his open-class career on the later days of the Wellington Cup meeting. He was running out hack nominations when he won the Summer Hack Cup easily at the Southland New Year meeting. Golden Disc, a small Kurdistan filly, will contest the Camp Handicap on the first day at
Eiffel Tower and Royal Bid, two of the stars at the Wellington Cup meeting last year, will return to Trentham this week assured of solid South Island backing in the cup on Saturday.
