Ambassador From Eire
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 16. The first Irish Ambassador to New Zealand, Dr. Eoin Macwhite, will arrive in Wellington tomorrow on a threeweek visit. Dr. Macwhite was appointed diplomatic representative of the Irish Republic three months ago. He is already the Irish Ambassador in Australia.
The official recognition consisted of an extension of the Australian accreditation to include New Zealand. It will be Dr. Macwhite’s first official visit to New Zealand. It will also be the first visit by an Irish Government official since 1949, when the Prime Minister, Mr de Valera, visited the country.
