St. Albans I and II both seemed set for innings wins when stumps were drawn at the end of Women’s Cricket Associaiton matches begun on Saturday. P. Blackler (St. Albans I) had a splendid day, scoring 59 runs and capturing nine wickets for 49 runs. K. Pyatt and K. Wilkinson both made 50s for St. Albans II and captured most of the Western II wickets to fall.

Mia Moa led Western I by 68 runs on the first innings thanks to an attractive 66 not out by M. Lawson after A. Giles and N. Motz had bundled out the opposition for 58 runs. Scores were:—

Technical 37 (V. Giffkins 22; L. Watson 4/9, P. Blackler 4/22) and 52/6 (P. Moore 39 not out; P. Blackler 5/27) met St. Albans I 108/8 decl. (P. Blackler 59; P. Moore 5/31, M. Taylor 3/53).

St. Albans II 200/6 decl. (K Pyatt 84, M. Alabaster 35, K. Wilkinson 50 not out; L. Hawes 2/52, S. Cowles 2/86) met Western II 45 (S. Cowles 21; K. Wilkinson 3/13, K. Pyatt 2/14) and 18/0. Western I 58 (A. Giles 3/10, N. Motz 3/5) and 23/0 met Mia Moa 126 (M. Lawson 66 not out, N. Saunderson 22; E. Rouse 4/42, L. Drummond 2/26).
