DISCONTENT REASON
Dismissals By Union (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 14. The dismissal of the executive of the Auckland Storemen and Packers’ Union in a secret ballot this week comes after several months of discontent over the administration of union affairs. The decision to hold the secret ballot on the leadership of the union was taken at a special meeting. All the officers who were returned unopposed in July favoured the ballot, which was run by the Labour Department. The secret ballot for the new executive will also be run by the department. Three trustees who now control the union’s affairs cannot make policy decisions. The trustees are all members of the dismissed executive. They are the president (Mr R. E. Dabron), a member of the management committee, Mr A. McLean, and the secretary (Mr A. W. Grant).
