Helping Young Maoris Adapt

About 60 Maoris arrived in Wellington today to take part in the first urban integration scheme for Maoris in New Zealand. The scheme is designed to help young Maoris from relatively isolated rural areas to adapt to city life. The students will live in hostels at Trentham and Wellington for five weeks and will be given instruction in English. mathematics and civics, all the material being related to the immediate problems with which they will have to cope.
