THE DESIGNS OF AUSTRALIAN DOLLAR-CURRENCY BANKNOTES which will go into circulation on February 14. The one-dollar note, in brown and yellow, features a portrait of the Queen and a variation of the Australian coat of arms. The reverse side, in brown and green, has an aboriginal theme. The two-dollar green-and-yellow note carries a portrait of John Macarthur (1767-1834), a pioneer breeder of Merino sheep; the 10-dollar note, in blue, green and orange, has a portrait of the pioneer architect, Francis Greenway (1777-1837); and the 20-dollar note, coloured red and yellow, shows the famous airman, Sir Charles Kingsford Smith (1897-1935). The reverse sides of the notes are of different designs with portraits of other noted Australians.
