Aust. Meat Board To See Works, Ports

WELLINGTON, Jan. 14. Mr J. L. Shute, chairman, and most of the members of the Australian Meat Board will make an official visit to New Zealand next month. They will inspect port installations, visit freezing works and farms and hold discussions with their New Zealand counterparts on matters of mutual interest The party arrives in Christchurch by air on February 13 and will next day inspect the Port of Bluff, to see the mechanical meat-loaders. On February 16, Mr Shute, accompanied by producer members of his board, will visit Wellington for discussions with the Meat Board, while the exporter members t
of the party, under Mr J. S. Balderstone, will visit freezing works and the ports at Lyttelton and Wellington. In Wellington there will be a special briefing session for all the Australians on the work of the Exports and Shipping Council. The party will leave for Australia again from Wellington on February 19. The other members of the party will be Messrs F. J. Horwood. R. Langfield. B. H. Hughes, A. J. Allingham, and C. W. Hodgson. They will be accompanied by Mr R. W. Mitchell, chief executive officer of the Australian Board, and Mr J. P. Wilson, technical adviser.
