CANDIDATES must have a registrable medical qualification and must either: — (a) Hold a higher qualification in psychiatry, or equivalent, and have had not less than two years’ practical experience in psychiatry, or (b) Have been qualified for not less than six years and have had not less than three years’ practice in psychiatry. 1 The duties of the appointment, under the Professor of Psychological Medicine, include participation in an extensive (300 hours) undergraduate teaching programme and clinical work in the setting of a general teaching hospital with in-patient and out-patient units.
